Scope
This policy covers this website, the company site for Ebbwater LLC. It does not cover products in the portfolio. WantNot and any other product operates its own site under its own policy, so check there for anything you do inside a product.
What this site collects
Almost nothing. There are no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no advertising tags. A small script runs only to remember your light or dark theme preference. It stores one value, theme, in your browser's localStorage and checks your system's color scheme preference if you have not chosen a theme. The value stays on your device, is not sent to any server, and is not used for tracking. This site sets no cookies and has no forms that collect your information.
What happens anyway when you load a page
Two things involve third parties, and both are ordinary consequences of the site being on the internet rather than choices to gather data about you.
- Hosting. The site is served by Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps. Like any web server, it records standard request information such as your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, and your browser's user agent string. These are Microsoft's operational logs, held under Microsoft's terms. Ebbwater does not query them, export them, or connect them to anything else.
- Fonts. The pages load the Archivo and Exo 2 typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore requests files from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, which discloses your IP address and user agent to Google. Google states it does not use Google Fonts requests to build advertising profiles, but the request does happen and you should know about it.
If you email the address on the contact page, that message and whatever it contains arrives in a mailbox controlled by Ebbwater. It is used to answer you and for nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.
What is never done with your information
Your information is not sold, rented, traded, or shared for anyone else's marketing. No profile of you is built. No data is combined across sources. There is no third party receiving anything beyond the hosting provider and font provider named above.
Links out
This site links to portfolio product sites. Following a link takes you somewhere governed by a different policy, and this one stops applying at that point.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information a company holds about you. In practice this site holds nothing on its servers to access, correct, or delete, beyond the theme preference stored only in your own browser. You can clear that preference at any time by clearing your browser's site data or localStorage, or by toggling the theme. If you have emailed and want that correspondence removed, ask and it will be deleted. Requests about the hosting logs described above have to go to Microsoft, since Ebbwater does not control them.
Children
This is a company information site and is not directed at children, and no information is knowingly collected from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described rather than quietly folded in.
